Bsc Hons Biochem MBChB MRCGP DipPallMed I graduated from Leeds University Medical School in 1998. Following a period of time spent working in hospital medicine, I went on to train as a GP in Harrogate. I joined the practice in 2006 as a partner.

MBChB DRCOG FP Cert I graduated from Leeds Medical School in 1983 and have worked as a full-time GP in Alwoodley since 1988. I took semi-retirement in 2015 and now work 2 days per week.

MBChB MRCP DRCOG MRCGP I graduated from Birmingham University Medical School in 1989 and initially trained in hospital medicine. I have spent periods of time working in Australia and Singapore. My general practice training was undertaken in London and I moved to Yorkshire with my family in 2004.

MBChB MRCGP DFFP DRCOG I graduated from Leeds Medical School in 1990 and have stayed in Yorkshire since. I did my GP training in Bradford and started work at this practice in 1996 after a short time abroad.

MBBS BSc I graduated from University College and Middlesex School of Medicine, London in 1993. I previously studied Applied Zoology at Bangor, North Wales. I have been a GP principal since 1998 and have been a partner at the practice since 2004.

Dr Andrew Higgins
MBChB MRCGP DPD MFDS(RCPS) I graduated from Leeds Medical School in 2004, having previously qualified as a dentist in 1996. I spent 10 years training in surgical specialties (mostly Maxillofacial and ENT), before changing to general practice in 2007. My particular areas of interest are ENT, dermatology and minor surgery
Dr Jorge Alegria Valencia
MD MRCGP I qualified in 1999 and moved to England in 2001. I practiced in hospital medicine until commencing my GP training in Yorkshire in 2007. I have a keen interest in ENT, musculoskeletal medicine, minor surgery and joint injections.

MbChB BSc MRCGP DRCOG DFFP I graduated from Leeds Medical School in 2004 and completed my GP training in Yorkshire in 2009. Since then, I have remained working as a GP in the area and joined here as a Partner in 2016.
Dr Martin Sutcliffe
MBChB, FRCA (2011), MRCGP, PGCertMedEd. I graduated from Aberdeen Medical School in 2004, and after spending far too long working in hospitals I finished training as a GP in 2016 in the Wakefield area. I joined the practice in 2016 as a partner. I am now a GP trainer, and supervise a GP Registrar in the practice.
Dr Kate Matheson
MBChB MRCGP DRCOG DFFP I graduated from Sheffield University in 2000 and completed my GP training in Bradford in 2006. I joined Moorcroft surgery as a salaried GP in 2014.
Dr Helen Edwards
RGN I trained at Leeds General Infirmary and qualified in 1981. I worked on the Coronary Care Unit and then worked as a bank nurse while my children were young. I joined the Practice in 1993 and became senior nurse in 1996. I have a specialist interest in all chronic diseases and also undertake all regular practice nurse duties
I qualified as a nurse in 2001 after training at Leeds University and then worked in Respiratory medicine. I then moved into bank work for a few years, covering specialisms such as orthopedics, gynaecology and A & E. Following on from this I worked in the Ear Nose and Throat Outpatients for several years before training as a Practice Nurse in 2011. I currently undertake general practice nurse duties and most chronic disease checks, apart from Diabetes.
RGN I graduated from The University of Hull in 2001 where I obtained a degree in Bsc (Hons) Nursing Sciences and became a Registered Nurse. I initially worked in Intensive Care, then moved to Community Nursing in 2004. I became a Practice Nurse in 2007. Following a career break to care for my children, I joined the practice in 2016. I undertake all general Practice Nurse duties.
RGN I have worked within the NHS since 2001, working in various roles, both in primary, community and acute care settings. I went on to complete my nurse training in 2012 and spent 5 years working on an acute ward for stroke and neurology patients. I started at the practice in September 2016, being new to practice nursing I am currently studying to develop my skills and knowledge.
RGN I qualified in 1991 in Glasgow. I then came to work in Killingbeck before St James's. I have work as a Practice Nurse for 8 years. I have special interests in Diabetes care and chronic disease management.
I joined the Practice in 2004 as a fully qualified Healthcare Assistant, and undertake many varied tasks within my role.
I began working at the Practice in 2003 as a Receptionist. I then went on to qualify as a Phlebotomist in 2010 and as a Primary Healthcare Assistant in 2013.
My background is in Nursing and Midwifery, qualifying in 1987 as a Midwife. I worked at St James's until 2010 and then volunteered in the community. I joined the practice in 2016 and am happy to be experiencing primary care in a community setting.
Business Manager I have worked at the Practice since January 2007 after starting my career in practice management In Edinburgh in 2003.
