What is the patient participation group?
The patient group is open to any registered patient to join, and its purpose is to engage patients and their voices in the future development of the NHS. Do you have ideas for improving services in the practice? Are there services you would like to see available?
The Practice has an active Patient Participation group, formed from a small group of patients from Nursery Lane & Adel, and Moorcroft surgeries. The aims of the Group are set out in detail in our Terms of Reference, but in summary we act as a critical friend to both patients and the practice in order to strengthen the relationship between the two and ensure services delivered meet patient needs.
We are also a member of the National Association for Patient Participation N.A.P.P. www.NAPP.org.uk
The Group meets at least 4 times a year – and indeed in the run-up to the opening of the new building we met monthly. We discuss wider issues affecting groups of patients, rather than being a forum for discussing individual complaints or single issues. Members do NOT have access to any patient information or contact details. From time to time we will be conducting surveys of patients to seek their feedback on the practice and the services it offers.
We also produce regular newsletters which seek to keep patients informed of developments at the Practice and services that they may not be aware of. To receive these newsletters, you need to opt in to receive newsletters from within the “Online Services” section of the web.
If you would like to contact us you may do so by emailing us at PPG.AlwoodleyMedicalCentre@outlook.com or by post addressed to the PPG at either Alwoodley or Adel surgeries.
